DCWW - Super Special Pedagogy of Road Safety

We take good care of our home and our family members, and do we take good care of our country and fellow citizens. We share common space in our country such as public parks and public roads and we have rights and responsibility. We blame our fellow citizens for road accidents and never take the responsibility, whereas we all are equally and dutifully responsible for daily road accidents. As per latest report of World Health Organization, road accident deaths have been reduced globally and increased in India. That means India stands at the last position in road safey ranking in the world. Isn't it damaging the respect of our country? 

We as a citizen, are all accountable for the good or bad conditions of the nation. We need to shift our attention into action to procure positive impacts on our community and country. An individual action performed by a person can change a life, but collaborative actions have a positive impact on the entire nation. Therefore, the duties of citizens count as a contribution to a flourishing society and nation as a whole. The most burning question of the moment is - What are you doing for road safety?

All for one and one for All. United we win & divided we fall. Show your loyalty & solidarity to nation. It is a matter of respect & honor of our great nation. We have to change the road safety ranking of our nation in the world from bottom to top.

If we want unity, we must all be unifiers. If we want accountability, each of us must be accountable for all we do on roads. Accountability is the glue that bonds commitment to results. No one is coming to save you. Our life is our responsibility. Whether to be held accountable or to be a victim is one of those fundamental decisions that everyone needs to make, whereas the former leads us to a happier and more rewarding life.  Accountability or Victimity?

Science has gifted us vehicles for our comfort and growth and it has side effects also which we have ignored and this ignorance is the root cause of the accidental suicide. Daily accidental suicide is deadlier than pandemic and it is a global issue. Global community, key stakeholders across the world including United Nations are organizing public awareness events such as seminar, conference, walkathon, marathon, biking, vigil,  gathering, concert, religious service, unveiling of memorial, candle light vigil and felicitation ceremony etc.

Public participate in all these events, appreciate the event organizer and say that you are doing commendable job but we will be doing only that for what our mind is set to do. Road users are not implementing the wisdom, not following, not serious, not committed all these are the claims and statements of the key stakeholders for the general public. Road users claim the major cause of road accidents is infrastructural deficits and government claims behavioural deficits of road users also account for the major  cause of road accidents in India.

 

Due to non-cooperative mindsets and tendencies among road users, many road safety professionals have given up working on road safety because they do not follow and implement the wisdom of road safety. People acquire more and more knowledge but do not implement, do not transform their knowledge into reality.  Our brain is a memory bank that storing short-term memories and long-term memories. Our brain is having Overloaded Information - OI  and it is proactive and at the same time it is reactive as well and sending message to brain not to store what is just heard.

 

If we enter data in the memory of our computer it will receive the command, process it and deliver the output. If no data is fed or stored into the computer memory, it will not receive any command and can not deliver the desired output. When no proper and right data of road safefty is fed into our brain memory, then the brain will receive the command from dominating mind and process it to deliver the output.

 

Remember the mind is dominating us and our actions are strongly integrated to enjoy the tastes of our senses as well as instant gratification. Our repeated actions and behaviors on the roads determine our preparedness to deal with road traffic disasters. Road accidents occurs due to human errors (drivers & pedestrian fault) and mistakes can be corrected.

 

While learning to drive, our inner intelligence (our 7th sense) instructed the mind to pay dedicated attention to the roads and the mind followed. But after learning to drive, we have given the message to ouor mind that I have learned and gained experience, then the mind started paying divided attention to the roads and this time our inner intelligence (7th sense)  did not instruct the mind to pay dedicated attention to the roads.  As a result, our mind has become arbitrary and we have started acting according to the instructions of our mind and we have become slaves of our mind and our inner intelligence has become weak.
 

Our mind is dominating us and we believe on this mind blindly. Our sense organs are designed for our survival process but we have taken them as the only purpose of our life and going into this direction only and stopped observing.

 

When road users participate in the awareness event, they appreciate it and take it to their superficial intelligence level only and not to inner intelligence level, consequently they will not be able to implement in their daily routine. Many people still using old normal phone and don’t want to use smartphone. Because by trying different and new thing they have to learn new things, face instability involved in doing the new task.   Many are saying "I know everything" which is their illusion. People are using smartphones and think they are smart but it's their phone which is smart. Smartness does not come from using a smartphone, but from using the 7th sense which is inner intelligence.

Road users are making mistakes & repeating them on roads. As a resulthuman behavioral errors are responsible for 94% of road accident deaths. Various researches in the world have prepared theories, models & frameworks for behavior change, but not about preventing recurrence. Hence the permanent solution to achieve desired stable behavior remained unresolved. If the desired stable behavior is still not achieved, the recurrence will turn into reflex so even God cannot change. 

Over the years MIC also followed what the world was doing and tried to run public awareness campaigns more powerfully than all other major stakeholders by taking voluntary support from the Indian Army. They use to Hold banners, participate in awareness rallies, pledge signing, seminars, awards and various other activities have yielded zero results.

Many stakeholders are running awareness campaigns on road safety which are not working or leaving a negative impact and encouraging road users to continue with their old mindset. They are trying to bridge this gap ( mind pothole) thru hollow filling by providing just road safety skills training in place of advanced road safety skill training. Road users are not taking the wisdom of road safety into their inner intelligence.

The result is that the bridge is collapsing due to weak supporting pillars and base and in the absence of strong supporting pillars and base, invisible massive weeds have grown in the gap area which are acting as supporting pillars for the bridge. This weak bridge and overgrown weeds are becoming the main reasons for the increasing number of accidental suicides every day. The road safety skill gap has created a mind pothole which should be covered with a special road safety skill (not just road safety skills) so as to create a strong base using appropriate material and the overgrown weeds in the gap area should also be removed first.

We keep our eyes continuously open almost for 16 hours (if our sleeping time is 8 hours) to look outside and find faults in others but we cannot keep our eyes closed for 1 hour to look inside us to find our own fault and if we do that we will find many flaws within us. We are blaming the government for the road potholes but we never interospect to identify our mind potholes that has been created by our impairments.

You are what you speak and you become what you speak, so always speak positively to get positive results. The negative affirmation create pothole in our mindset, and more negative information is making them deeper and wider over time. These potholes in the mindset are killing the effectiveness to solve the problems. 

  

Repair the potholes of your mindset and retrain your brain to receive the positive information in line with the intention in and goal and also with consistency. Burn up your negativity before it burns you up.  

Behaviour is the mirror in which everyone shows their image. We cannot  change someone who doesn't see an issue with their actions. Overconfidence is a very serious problem, if you don't think it affects you, that is probably you are overconfident.

If behavior change is so easy or can be changed through awareness campaigns then no one would smoke after seeing warning message of smoking is harmful to health. Behavior is an effect and grown tree level and plucking leaves from the tree does not prevent the leaves from growing back. Every effect has a root cause. Find and address the root cause rather than trying to fix the effect as there is no end to the latter.

The 5 stages of development from sowing to reaping. (1-Seeds > 2-Sprout > 3-Plant > 4-Tree > 5-Fruiting Tree) (1-Seeds > 2-Thought > 3-Action > 4-Behaviour/Habit > 5-Reflex). Should accident prevention be  a reflex action or accident provocation be a reflex action?  We have already crossed the warning level as we are at stage 4 and impending disaster is looming aroound us and once we reach stage 5 i.e. reflex action, even God cannot change the reflex action. 

Science says if the desired fruit is not obtained, just change the seeds, soli and process quality. It is madness to keep doing the same and except different results. It is madness to expect updated outcome from outdated input. It is madness to lead an attitude of I KNOW EVERYTHING because by doing so you are putting a deadlock to your self-improvement and there is always a room for self-improvement. 

 

The plant does not become fruitful by pouring water on the leaves, for that water has to be supplied to the roots of the plant. Keeping the wisdom on the superficial intelligence does not make it fruitful, for that the wisdom has to be taken to the inner intelligence. Then the inner intelligence can differentiate between vision and illusion otherwise our mind will be dominating us. Our inner intelligence will be on sleeping mode and so our conscious.

 

Acquiring wisdom and keeping it at the superficial intelligence level and not implementing the wisdom is not a sensible thing. Even if they try to act on the wisdom they acquired, they will hardly try for once or twice then they will get back to the old mindset. 

 

Unless wisdom is taken to the inner intelligence disaster is the destination. Road users will be unable to take action in the direction of superficial intelligence for longer period and accidental suicide is the destination. Road users do not take action until they understand that the proposed task is very important. We must strengthen our inner intelligence, our superconscious must acquire wisdom through non-physical or psychic mechanisms and pass that knowledge to the conscious mind. When superconscious mind giving the direction to our conscious mind then it will command the brain and brain will command the body . Once it is understood that the proposed task is very important, then they cannot stop themselves from trying.

If seeds are not sown in the land garden, weeds grow on their own. Even though seeds have been sown in the land garden, weeds still keep growing on their own and we have to keep removing weeds constantly. If we do not remove weeds then these weeds become big bushes. Crop in the garden of soil is visible but the crop in the garden of mind is invisible.

The seeds of road safety skills are not sown initially in the garden of mind of all road users, the empty space in the garden of mind has been taken over by weeds and turned into big bushes. These bushes are not allowing much sowing in the garden of minds of road users.  First of all we have to remove these weeds and then sow the seeds of specailised road safety skill in the garden of minds of all road users by doing necessary renovation of the garden of minds of road users.  

What you can't do and if you don't do that, is not a problem. But what you can do and if you don't do that, then it is a serious problem, this could cause devastation. Don’t downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny.

To get the output first we need to feed the input, then the input will be processed to get the desired output. The input in you is equal to the out by you. Keep upgrading yourself so that you do not become downgraded. Keep updating yourself so that you do not become outdated. 

Everyone wants to end to daily accidental suicides which is the result of a process and it is the duty of every road users to be part of the solution and not the problem. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Change the changeable, accept the unchangeable and remove yourself from the unacceptable. Never accept unacceptable behavior otherwise you will make it acceptable.

The key to sustainable safe travel is to learn advanced road safety skills, but road users are only picking the locks. While you may have achieved excellence in career and pride in your material possessions, and feel better than others, it does not mean you have achieved excellence in road safety. People with high status are also dying in accidental suicide every day because of their overconfidence and lack of stable behavior setting - SBS.

Every day in India around 500 people are dying in road accidents and around 1100 people are getting seriously injured because road users lack road safety skills and pick the lock instead of the key. If you lock yourself out of self-improvement and reject any upgrade or update advice then destruction is the destination. Advice after injury is like medicine after death because it is lease heeded when it is most needed. People are coming forward not at the cost of advice but at the cost of precious lives.

The below image is showing Japanese 3 wise monkeys namely Mizaru, Kikazaru & Iwazaru  are conveying the message of see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil are negative psychology and restraining words.Gandhi Ji also promoted the concept of 3 wse monkeys with the same message.

 

Science says when you tell someone not to do something, they will be more motivated than ever to do it because of the psychological behaviour known as reactance. This behavioural reactance is a type of mechanism where our mind wants to ensure the self-control that, we are free to do, whatever it is, that, we want to do, with our own lives.

For road safety awareness displaying messages don’t jump red traffic signal, don't drink and drive, don’t use mobile phones when on wheels etc., are also restraining words. People tend to react to restrictive words by doing restrictive things because their mind-set is leaned toward negativity and thus the negative energy is ruling us.

At the rate which road accidents are increasing, the rate of accidental suicide per day will increase from the current 500 to 50000 per day and half of the India’s population will become disabled in the next 35 years.

The person receiving this emergency call must escalate this call to 10 persons so that our reach can be expanded as quickly as possible to include all citizens and ensure that no one is left behind. In the above video, the Bollywood legend, spiritual leader and Honorable Union Minister are advocating for psychology based strong education to reduce road accident deaths. Shri Anurag Jain Secretary MoRTH is considering human behavior as the main cause of road accident deaths and is relying on awareness campaigns for human behavior change. If behavior change is possible through education and awareness then no one smokes after seeing the warning message of smoking is harmful to health. Current human behavior is the harvest of a seed that was sown long ago. If a desired fruit is not achieved then we must change the seeds, soil and process quality. Every consequence has a root cause, every behavior has a root cause, and it is essential to fix the root cause rather than trying to fix the consequences, because if the root cause is not fixed, the consequences will never end. The root cause can be changed not by awareness and education but by special mechanism. We have already passed the emergency alert level and imminent disaster is looming over us and behavior can turn into reflex action and if that happens even God cannot change the reflex. 94% of road accidents are happening due to human error which can be corrected but road users are not accepting their mistakes, not correcting their mistakes and repeating them. It is clear in the above video that Priyanka who met with 15 road accidents and claims that she was not at fault and she cannot be at fault. She is making this claim in the presence of all those experts and no one told her that it was her duty-bound responsibility to prevent all the 15 accidents that happened to her. As long as we are using the roads, we are all responsible for preventing and provoking road accidents. Failing to prevent road accident means provoking road accidents. Roads are a shared space and we are equally and dutifully responsible to prevent road accidents. It takes two hands to clap and two parties to collide, but people blame others for accidents and by doing so they are hiding their failure in the duty of accident prevention.
