About IVD

United Nation in its General Assembly has mandated in 1985 the observance of International Volunteer Day – IVD For Economic & Social Development. We Mother India Care is promoting volunteerism and encouraging and recognizing individual volunteer and organization for their contribution and achievements for the society and nation and also for achieving the sustainable development goal.

The focus of IVD is not only to celebrate volunteerism in all its facets, but also highlights the role that volunteers play in building resilient communities, society and nation. It is

It is important that current evaluations compare the worldwide volunteer workforce to 109 million as full time workers. 30 percent of volunteering that happens formally through associations, organizations and groups; and 70 percent happens through casual commitment between individual members of the general public. In general, 60% of the informal volunteers are women.

Our organization has been promoting and encouraging volunteerism and its awareness amongst the general mass. We are promoting this IVD by through a symposium and conferring of awards ceremony with the nomenclature of most prestigious award “ Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial Excellence Award, National Pride & Excellence Award and Life Time Achievement & Excellence Award.

The Event will not only observe the presence of eminent and dignified personalities from Indian Army officers, including central and state Government officers.

Our supreme vision is to enable supporting hand to under privileges and poor & needy persons.

Theme for IVD 2018 – “Volunteers build Resilient Communities”

IVD 2018 celebrates volunteer efforts that strengthen local ownership and the resilience of the community in the face of natural disasters, economic stresses and political shocks. The event on 5 December 2018 will focus on how volunteers can build resilient communities.

“Volunteers are often the first to act in times of crisis, helping millions to survive despite the risks. Their work upholds our common humanity.”
